Delphi
We traveled to Delphi on Wednesday 20th September. We stayed there from Wednesday to Friday. On the first day we arrived we all got settled into our rooms. Then we were split into two different groups, one group went on the bus to the beach were they went surfing. My group went on the high ropes. We put on our harnesses and helmets. The High Ropes were high, very high. It was very adrenaline pumping and scary but it was amazing seeing our friends and just how brave they really are! Afterwards were had some dinner. Then we went off to our rooms to set up our beds.
On Thursday we were up early for breakfast and packed our bags with some water and lunch for our hike. We first went on a 30 minute bus drive which brought us close to the mountain. After getting off the bus I was borrowing my friends coats, it was freezing! But it wasn't long until the hills got very steep and the hike intensified. A shower of rain was very welcome! On the mountain the trail became very muddy, uneven and difficult to walk on. Crossing streams and and patches of very boggy land was not uncommon. By the time we reached the top of the mountain everybody was very hungry and cold. The walk was very long and on the decent the rocks were very slippy and I had a few near misses were I slipped on some wet rocks! By the time we reached the bus the hike had taken its toll on some of our feet with blisters. Thankfully I had remembered the Thousand Mile socks which prevented any blistered. After dinner it was off to the camp fire. It was cold, dark and really we were just to tired after the day to bother with the campfire.
On the final day we headed off to the beach to go surfing. We got our wet suits and got on the bus. I must admit that I really wasnt looking forward to it because it was a very cold day and I didnt feel like getting wet! But I was very happy that I did It. The surfing was by far the best activity at Delphi.
