On Tuesday 16th of January we travelled to the Eye cinema in Galway to watch a movie called Condemned to Remember. The movie was a documentry about the Holocaust, mainly one mans story. The story of Tomi Reichental. He was present at the screening of the movie and answered questions afterwards.
The movie was very moving as it talked about Tomis experience at the death camp Bergan Belsen. The movie showed how one by one the members of his family died. The story moved away from this showing stories of what happened in different villages.
In the cinema you could hear a pin drop. Overall the movie was a heavy watch, facing the truth can be ugly. Some, more than others, were disturbed by the real life footage of an execution. One man receiving a single bullet to the back of the head.
It was very sad movie to hear what happened to him and his family but it was really worth the watch.
